Ernest Gordon Elliott was born in Raleigh on Nov. 21st 1940, he was the youngest of 7 children born to William and Maud Elliott. in 1966 he met and married Vida and During that time they raised 3 Children, family was the most important thing to Ern and he also got the pleasure of enjoying 3 wonderful grand children and 1 great grandchild. Ern worked very hard throughout his life at many jobs including fishing with his brother Chesley and Wilbert to driving his own dump truck and running the family general store. he was a very talented accordion player and had a passion for playing music with is brother Wilbert. Ern Passed away on the 10th of June, 2014, at the Health Science Center in St. Johns, He leaves to mourn his wife Vida, Daughter Paula (Jerome) Parrill, Sons Paul (Cindy) and Kerry (Marcie), Grand children Brandon (Marissa), Morrgan and Ryder. Great Grandson Abel, sister Hazel Butt and Brother Wilbert (Juanita), sister in law myrtle Elliott and Rita Elliott, his love and his music will be surely missed. Ern lived to see the passing of his father William Elliott, mother Maud Elliott, brothers Chesley, Kenneth and Ross, Sister Phyllis Thistle, Sister in law Olive Elliott. Visitation was held at the United Church in Raleigh, From which the Funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 15th of June with Rev. Gus Pendelton officiating. burial followed in the Church Cemetery. funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.
