Passed away at the Janeway Children’s Hospital in St. John’s, NL at the age of 17 years. Austin Toma Taylor was born in 2000 in St. John's, NL and spent his early years in Raleigh. His family moved to Labrador City several years ago, but he still often returned to Raleigh where he enjoyed time with his grandparents and friends. Austin was a blessing to everyone who knew him, and he was blessed by sharing life with his parents Toma and Valerie (nee Smith), and his sister, Kendra (Kyle) and their two children AJ and Ella. In addition, Austin was blessed by the support of grandparents Glen and Barbara Taylor, Nellie and Willis Smith, Joan and Phil Bursey and Hedley Blake, and great grandparents Raymond Roberts and Everett and Jessie Blake. In addition, a large circle of aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many, many friends blessed Austin's days. Thank you all! The reality that each of you blessed Austin's life is directly related to the response of your hearts to the blessing that he was. Everywhere he went, Austin touched the hearts of people. Austin truly was a blessing. He will be greatly missed and remembered with love. passed away on July 7th, 2017 at the age of 72 years. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Thomas was a fisherman by occupation and worked at other occupations following the 1992 moratorium. He had a fine sense of humour and an engaging manner, and he could be counted upon to share his ongoing interests in current affairs, at times passionately. He was loved by many and those who knew him will miss his anecdotes, stories, and his enjoyment of life. Mildred was a generous, loving, person and a friend to all she met. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking, ice fishing, and berry picking. She loved playing bingo and cards. Her family meant everything to her. Mildred touched many lives on her own life’s journey and the influence she made on those left behind will ensure she is never forgotten. ELLSWORTH, ROLAND
Roland was born to Thomas and Jessie Ellsworth on April 21st, 1935 in Englee, NL. He married Stella Loder of Harbour Deep on July 5th, 1956. Roland made his living by working in the woods, fishing, and working in the fish plant as a cutter. He also spent time working in construction work. Roland gave his heart to the Lord under the ministry of Pastor Peckford. Roland slipped away into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 at the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 82 years. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He leaves to cherish memories his Brothers Ralph (Shirley), Ron (Wavey); Sisters Lily, and Drucilla as well as his nephews, nieces, and many other relatives. He was predeceased by his wife Stella; His parents Thomas and Jessie, and by his sister Audrey. Passed away June 24th, 2017 at Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 85 years. Eileen was born on September 20, 1931 to the late Charles and Elizabeth Hopkins. She married Fred (Ted) Johnson on April 16, 1956. Eileen was an outdoor person and loved to go trouting and rabbit catching. She loved to knit and knitted hundreds of socks. Teachers boarded at her house for several years. She worked at the fish plant for 20 years. She came to know the Lord in 1999 in her own home. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughter Joy; son-in-law Guy; Grandchildren Paula, Tyson; Sisters Muriel, Ethel, Rita; and Brother John as well as nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, mother, and her husband Ted. Visitation was held from the Salvation Army Church in Englee from where the funeral was held on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 with Major Maurice Collins officiating.
