Helen was born in Great Brehat on March 24, 1924 to Thomas and Emily Jane Cull. She lived her young life in Great Brehat, and then moved to L’Anse aux Meadows, where she married the love of her life, Job Anderson. They raised one child, Delena, whom they cherished more Than life itself. Helen peacefully passed away at the John M. Gray Centre at 4:45 AM Friday, March 18th, 2016. Left to Mourn: Her Daughter: Delena (Graydon) Grandson: Scott (Christine) Great-grandchildren: Emil and Grant Sisters: Olive Simms, and Florrie Keats, Brother: Walter (Helena) Cull Brothers-in-law: Max (Gladys) Anderson, Dorman (Rose) Anderson Sisters-in-law: Dot Anderson and Pearl Anderson and a large circle of Nieces and Nephews Predeceased by: Husband: Job Parents: Thomas and Jane Cull and many other family members. Visitation was held at the Central United Church at Quirpon Branch, form which the funeral service was held on Monday March 21st, 2016 at 2:00pm with Rev. Gus Pendleton Officiating. It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Carol (Patey) Hedderson announces her passing on March 16, 2016 at the Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony at the age of 91 years. Frances was born and raised in St. Anthony, and she went on to be a Teacher in North West River, and then Noddy Bay. It was in Noddy Bay that she met her husband Garland. They settled in Hay Cove and raised a family of twelve. Her most joyful moments were when all the family was home sitting around the kitchen table. Frances loved going to Church,
knitting, gardening and enjoying a game of Skip-Bo with family and friends. Pilgrim was in his 64th year. PILGRIM, GEORGE BRAMWELL
George Bramwell Pilgrim was born November 16, 1925 to Lucy and Bramwell Pilgrim. September 11,1959 he married the love of his life Margaret Hussey. He lived in Little Brehat where he fished until 1961. He then resettled to St. Anthony and fished for a while then took up employment as night watchman at The College of the North Atlantic retiring at the age of 65. Through his life he enjoyed fishing, hunting, berry picking, gardening, playing cards, catching smelts for their cat Tigger and singing Christian Hymns. George passed away into peace on the Second of march, 2016, he Leaves to mourn Sister Maisie, sister in law Maisie (Morgan) Morgans Predeceased by His wife of 51 years Margaret, his parents, brothers Donald (Violet) Spurgeon ( Jemima), sisters Valetta (Reuben) Cull, Florrie (Abram) Richards, and brother in law Clem. It is with great sadness that the family of William Applin announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony. William of Eddies Cove East was in his 75th year. He was a kind, funny man and enjoyed spending time with loved ones, playing cards and regaling tales from the past. William was a hard working man and thoroughly enjoyed his career as a fisherman. Some of his happiest times were those fishing with his brother and nephew. William was an honorable man, a loyal brother, a revered uncle, a reliable friend, a cherished father and a devoted, loving husband. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. ROBERTS, ISAAC WILFRED
Wilfred Roberts was born in Hampden to Charles and Bertha (Elms). His parents moved to Quirpon within a year of his birth. When Wilfred was young, his mother died and he went to live with his older cousin Esther and her husband Charles Rice who raised him. On December 21, 1951 he married Evelyn Taylor of Raleigh. They made their home in Quirpon raising their 6 children. In 1972 they moved to St. Anthony as he worked with the Department of Highways. After retirement they enjoyed time with their family, their cabins and gardens and attending The St. Anthony United Church. On the morning of the 25th of February, 2016, Wilfred passed peacefully away. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn, children Marie (Ralph), Cecil (Jessie), Stafford (Patricia), Wavey (Dean), Keith (Marie), Kevin (Debbie), 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother George, many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation was held at The funeral home in St. Anthony, After Which the funeral service took place at the St. Anthony United Church at 2:00pm on the 28th of February with Rev. Dinesh Gomes and Rev.
