RICE, RAYMOND ADOLPHUS

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center on the 7th day of November 2015, Mr. Raymond A. Rice of Main Brook was in his 81st year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memoires his Sons Clifford, Leonard, and Morgan, Daughters Lana, Lisa, Trena, and Phyllis, Brother Gorden, Sister Hazel, Twelve Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Wife Eliza, Parents Adolphus & Celia Rice, Sister Shirley. Visitation was held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Main Brook after which the funeral service was held on Tuesday November 10, 2015 at 2:00pm with Pastor Reginald Skinner officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

GREEN, MABEL

Mabel Green was born on January 24th, 1937 to George and Nellie(Bessey). She was one of four children. On May 11th, 1953 she married John Green on Raleigh, and together they raised five beautiful children. Mabel leaves to mourn: Sons Wallace(Judy), Alonzo(Michelle). Daughters Edna(Martin), Hazel(Raymond), Vivian(Tony). Grandchildren Jill, Vanessa(Ashley), Krista(Bruce), Terri(Mike), Kellie-Rae(Corey), Shawn(Genina), Aaron, Taylor. Great Grandchildren Brady, Chloe, Tristan, Dylan, Liam Madison. She was Pre-deceased by her Husband of 59 years, John. Parents George and Nellie Bessey. Parents-in-law Elijah and Christina Green. Sisters-in-law Nina Colbourne, Beatrice Green. Brothers-in-law Hubert Colbourne, Henry Green, Amaziah Patey, Leonard Green. Visitation was held at the Anglican Church in Raleigh from which the funeral service was held at 11:00am on Tuesday November 10 2015 with Rev. Diane Smith officiating. CASSELL, OLIVE GEORGINA

Olive was born in Englee on December 22, 1932 to James and Elizabeth Adams. She grew up with her brothers and sisters in Roddickton. She met and married Ralph Cassell on March 27, 1952 and they enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. She was a loving and compassionate person who dedicated her life to her family and helping others. She was generous to anyone who came to her door. She loved her family more than words can say. Her smile, humor and love will remain in our hearts. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her Loving Husband Ralph, her precious Children Lorne(Grace), Gary(Lilllian), Ruth(Wade), and Linda(Bramwell), Grandchildren Chad, Sarah, Darren, Desmond, Laura, Jessica, and Victoria, Great Grandchildren Anthony, Jade, Brianna, and Liam, her Siblings Charlie, Clara, Rowena, Jasper, Leamon, Dorman, Evelyn, Triffie, and Jerry as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents James and Elizabeth Adams, Her Siblings Millie and Jim and Grandson Deon. Visitation was held at the funeral home in Roddickton after which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Sunday November 8 2015 from the Pentecostal church in Roddickton with Lt. Randy Shears officiating. Interment followed in the Salvation Army Cemetery in Roddickton. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. LAMOTHE, NORMAND ERNEST

 Passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 29th of October, 2015.Normand was born in Chelmsford, Ontario to Lillian and Leo Lamothe on the 23rd of April, 1947 where he grew up. He graduated high school in Sudbury, Ontario; went to secondary school and became a Glazier and Metal Mechanic. He worked at his trade in Ontario until he retired. His only child, son Kevin, was his pride and joy and foremost in his life. Norm enjoyed music and played in many band for many years. He also like gardening and respected the quiet and friendly hospitality if living in the Flowers Cove area for the past eleven years with his partner Phyllis. He was very proud and cared so much about his appearance. He will be remembered by partner: Phyllis, Son: Kevin, Sister: Claudette, the Lamonthe and Gagnon families, Andy (Kim) and family, Barbara (Randy); Justin (Lynn) and family. Special Aunt: Amelia (late Garfield), Jennette (Shane) and family, Colitta and family, Wilson and Lousie, Clara and Dean, and all other family and friends. Norman was predeceased by: Mother: Lillian, Father: Leo, Sister: Juliette, Brother: Cleo, Ronald, Lionel, Romeo, Raymond, and Claude. Visitation was held at St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Flowers Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Wednesday the 4th of November, 2015. Internment followed at the Anglican Cemetery with Fr. Omar Reeves officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony, NL, and Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

ADEY, ROGER DAVID

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mr. Roger David Adey announce his sudden passing at his home on the 26th day of October 2015, Mr. Roger David Adey of St. Anthony was in his 54th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of Twenty-six years Jackie Adey, Son Anthony Adey (Michael Crant), Daughter Tara Adey, Brother Sam Adey(Viola), Sister Francis Avery(Herb), Brother Frank Adey(Joanne), He was also close with, and fondly loved his nieces Connie, Colleen, Crystal, and Carolyn, as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Mother Ethel Adey, Father George Adey, and Brother Morris Adey. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony from which the family memorial service took place at 2:00pm on Friday October 30th, 2015. Cremation followed after the service. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

TUCKER, MAISIE

Passed peacefully away at the Valley Vista Home in Springdale Newfoundland on October 23rd 2015. She was in her 72nd year. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are 4 children boyd of ship Cove NL, Gerald, Dean (Shannon) of Ontario and Michelle (Daniel) of Fredericton New Brunswick. Three grandchildren Kaelem, Josee and Chloe. Two brothers life (Jane) of Springdale. Keith (Lysann) Toronto Ontario. Four sisters Mary of St John's NL,  Bessie (Ray) Shirley (Noah) of Springdale NL. Mabel (Wilfred) of ship Cove NL. Also a large circle of relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place at the Ship Cove United Church on Tuesday October 27th at 2 p.m. with Rev Gus Pendleton and Rev. Wilson Gonese officiating. Laid to rest at the Ship Cove United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M.  Filtrate Funeral Home St. Anthony and Roddickton.  May she rest in peace.

 

EDDISON, HEDLEY MAXWELL

Hedley was born on March 14, 1953. He was the second of seven children born to Carmen and Mabel Eddison of Hay Cove.  On August 3, 1970 he married Pauline (Halleran) from St. Vincent’s. They started their life together in Trepassey and later move back to Hay Cove and together they raised 3 children and were blessed with eight grand-children.  He will be forever loved and sadly missed by  his Wife of 45 years – Pauline, Sons – Kenneth (Tammy), Darrell (Jaime) and Daughter – Darlene (George), Grand children: David, Erika, Joshua, Shantia, Shayden, Nick, Shannon, Nash, Mother: Mabel Eddison, Brothers : Harvey (Evelyn), Boyce (Alice), Colin (Brenda) ,Sisters: Marie (Dave) Stevens, Shirley (Darryl) Osmond, Glenice (Fred) Carter, Pansy (Loren) Roberts, Sister in laws: Marie Gibbons and Kathleen Dunphy, Special Friends: Christine and Winston Eddison, And a large circle of family and friends, Predeceased: Father – Carmen Eddison, Nephews: Melvin and Lindsay, Grand Parents: Jack and Daphne Andrews, John and Mary Eddison, Parent in-laws: Charles and Mary Halleran,Brother in Law: Gus Halleran and William Gibbons. Visitation was held at the Central United Church at Quirpon Branch, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on Sunday the 25th of October with Rev. Gus Pendelton officiate. burial followed the service in the Central United Cemetery. 

JOHNSON, JOYCE VERNETHA

Passed away gracefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial in St. Anthony on the 22nd of October, 2015, Mrs. Joyce Johnson of St Anthony, in her 78 year. Joyce Johnson (Decker) was born June 10th, 1937 to Adelaide (Bessey) and Henry Decker. She grew up in Wild Bight and at the age of 14 years, she moved with her family to St. Anthony. She met and married the love of her life, her friend and companion, Mark Johnson on December 11, 1957. Together they had four children: Wavie, Sharon, Rick, and Paul. Her family was her most valued treasure.

Joyce’s life was filled with creativity, she loved to sing and gave her family the gifts of music, love, and laughter. She spent her time knitting, rug hooking, and crocheting for example, and by far, her gardens brought her the greatest of joy.

 She leaves to mourn and will be sadly missed by her children Wavie (Paula), Sharon (Edward),  Rick (Jennifer), and Paul (Lisa), her grandchildren Stephanie, Shaun, Daniel, David, Donovan, Hannah, and Julia, her loving sister Nina (James) and nieces Sheila, Shauna, Shirley, Elizabeth, Lavenia, and Shirley, nephews Steven, Howard, James, David, and Nathanial along with many loving family and friends.

Joyce was a gracious, generous, loving woman and she will be greatly missed by her close friends Josie Powell, Barbara Brown, Phoebe Ollerhead, Flo Keats, Jack Alcock and her community.

 Joyce was predeceased by her husband Mark, her parents Henry and Adelaide Decker, brothers Nathaniel (Emily), James (Ada) and her sister Edith (Erastus), her nieces Winnifred and Vivian, and nephew Martin.

Visitation was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 25th with Fr. Rev. Paul Findlay officiating. Burial followed at the Compton's Steady Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

Passed peacefully away on the 17th day of October 2015 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Lucy Hughes of Green Island Brook was in her 82nd year. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held on Monday October 19, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 18th day of October 2015, Mr. Herbert Pittman of Englee was in his 84th year. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie, His Parents Noah and Nellie Pittman, his Brothers and Sisters.
