TUCKER, MAISIE

Passed peacefully away at the Valley Vista Home in Springdale Newfoundland on October 23rd 2015. She was in her 72nd year. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are 4 children boyd of ship Cove NL, Gerald, Dean (Shannon) of Ontario and Michelle (Daniel) of Fredericton New Brunswick. Three grandchildren Kaelem, Josee and Chloe. Two brothers life (Jane) of Springdale. Keith (Lysann) Toronto Ontario. Four sisters Mary of St John's NL,  Bessie (Ray) Shirley (Noah) of Springdale NL. Mabel (Wilfred) of ship Cove NL. Also a large circle of relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place at the Ship Cove United Church on Tuesday October 27th at 2 p.m. with Rev Gus Pendleton and Rev. Wilson Gonese officiating. Laid to rest at the Ship Cove United Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M.  Filtrate Funeral Home St. Anthony and Roddickton.  May she rest in peace.

 

EDDISON, HEDLEY MAXWELL

Hedley was born on March 14, 1953. He was the second of seven children born to Carmen and Mabel Eddison of Hay Cove.  On August 3, 1970 he married Pauline (Halleran) from St. Vincent’s. They started their life together in Trepassey and later move back to Hay Cove and together they raised 3 children and were blessed with eight grand-children.  He will be forever loved and sadly missed by  his Wife of 45 years – Pauline, Sons – Kenneth (Tammy), Darrell (Jaime) and Daughter – Darlene (George), Grand children: David, Erika, Joshua, Shantia, Shayden, Nick, Shannon, Nash, Mother: Mabel Eddison, Brothers : Harvey (Evelyn), Boyce (Alice), Colin (Brenda) ,Sisters: Marie (Dave) Stevens, Shirley (Darryl) Osmond, Glenice (Fred) Carter, Pansy (Loren) Roberts, Sister in laws: Marie Gibbons and Kathleen Dunphy, Special Friends: Christine and Winston Eddison, And a large circle of family and friends, Predeceased: Father – Carmen Eddison, Nephews: Melvin and Lindsay, Grand Parents: Jack and Daphne Andrews, John and Mary Eddison, Parent in-laws: Charles and Mary Halleran,Brother in Law: Gus Halleran and William Gibbons. Visitation was held at the Central United Church at Quirpon Branch, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on Sunday the 25th of October with Rev. Gus Pendelton officiate. burial followed the service in the Central United Cemetery. 

JOHNSON, JOYCE VERNETHA

Passed away gracefully at Charles S. Curtis Memorial in St. Anthony on the 22nd of October, 2015, Mrs. Joyce Johnson of St Anthony, in her 78 year. Joyce Johnson (Decker) was born June 10th, 1937 to Adelaide (Bessey) and Henry Decker. She grew up in Wild Bight and at the age of 14 years, she moved with her family to St. Anthony. She met and married the love of her life, her friend and companion, Mark Johnson on December 11, 1957. Together they had four children: Wavie, Sharon, Rick, and Paul. Her family was her most valued treasure.

Joyce’s life was filled with creativity, she loved to sing and gave her family the gifts of music, love, and laughter. She spent her time knitting, rug hooking, and crocheting for example, and by far, her gardens brought her the greatest of joy.

 She leaves to mourn and will be sadly missed by her children Wavie (Paula), Sharon (Edward),  Rick (Jennifer), and Paul (Lisa), her grandchildren Stephanie, Shaun, Daniel, David, Donovan, Hannah, and Julia, her loving sister Nina (James) and nieces Sheila, Shauna, Shirley, Elizabeth, Lavenia, and Shirley, nephews Steven, Howard, James, David, and Nathanial along with many loving family and friends.

Joyce was a gracious, generous, loving woman and she will be greatly missed by her close friends Josie Powell, Barbara Brown, Phoebe Ollerhead, Flo Keats, Jack Alcock and her community.

 Joyce was predeceased by her husband Mark, her parents Henry and Adelaide Decker, brothers Nathaniel (Emily), James (Ada) and her sister Edith (Erastus), her nieces Winnifred and Vivian, and nephew Martin.

Visitation was held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 25th with Fr. Rev. Paul Findlay officiating. Burial followed at the Compton's Steady Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

Passed peacefully away on the 17th day of October 2015 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Lucy Hughes of Green Island Brook was in her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Sons Chesley(Millie) Hughes, John Jr. (Bonnie) Hughes, Daughter Jessie Mahar, Judy (Glenn) Genge, Wanda(Dion) Hughes, Daughter-in-LawLavinia Hughes, Her  thirteen Grandchildren, eighteen Great- Grandchildren, two Great-Great Grandchildren, two step Great Great Grandchildren, Sisters Kizzie(George) Genge, and Ida(Ephriam) Rogers, Brother David(Olive) Noseworthy, Sister-in-Law Stella Noseworthy, as well as 13 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a large circle of other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John Hughes, Son Kevin Hughes, Parents William and Jane Noseworthy, Brothers Cecil Noseworthy, Clyde (Winnie) Noseworthy, and Great Granddaughter Ashtyn Mahar. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held on Monday October 19, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. PITTMAN, HERBERT ELIAS

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 18th day of October 2015, Mr. Herbert Pittman of Englee was in his 84th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Son Ronald (Elaine) Pittman, Englee, NL; Daughters Jean (Austin) Randell, Bide Arm, NL; Shirley (Wayne) Canning, Surrey, BC; Joyce (Toomas) Soots, Estonia Sharron (Eric) Reid, Englee, NL; Doreen Pittman, Fort McMurray, AB; Fourteen grandchildren, Twelve great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie, His Parents Noah and Nellie Pittman, his Brothers and Sisters. Visitation was held at the Apostolic Faith Church in Englee from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 22nd day of October 2015 with Pastor George Burton Officiating. Deborah Gwendola Pittman Decker
born to John and Eliza (Elliott) Pittman in Cooks Harbour on March 24th 1932. When “Deb” was in her teen she set out to work, which led her to different places in the province. She returned in 1955, very soon after she started dating Harold, they got married, had 3 children Howard, Barbara and Clyde. She raised her Family and helped Harold run a Family Business. Debbie enjoyed her game of darts and a scattered Game of bingo. She never failed to help out or donate to anyone in need. Deborah passed away suddenly on the 10th of Oct. 2016. She leaves to mourn her Children (Howard (Trudy), Barbara (Bill) Hedderson and Clyde (Linda), 4 Grand Children Bradley, Kaylie, Jack, and one great grandchild Riley. Her sisters Gladys Warren, Ivy Decker, Brothers Everton, Aaron (Winnie), her inlaws Bessie (Seymour), Myrtle, Dot, Juanita, Frances, Lo, Annie, lots of Nieces and Nephews a large circle of relatives and friends and special friend Alison.  Visitation was held at the St. Matthews Anglican Church in Cooks Harbour, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, Oct.  14th with Rev. Diane Smith and Lay readers Alf and Maude Larkin officiating. Burial will be held at the Anglican Cemetery in Cooks Harbour on Saturday Oct. 17th, 2015. Passed away peacefully at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 8th of October 2015, Mr. John Richard Pittman of Blue Cove, in his 86th year. left to mourn his passing are his special friend Annie, Mary Ann Dredge (Bob and Family), Mary Jane Taylor (Sister), Maude (James)  Chambers (Sister),  George (Ruth) Pittman (Brother), Elizabeth Myrtle (John ) Crane (Sister), Gladys Gibbons (Sister in law), as well as a large circle of family and friends.  John was predeceased by his  wife Mary Ann, his father John Pittman, Mother Mary Margaret Pittman, sister Deborah  (Oliver) Toope and his brother in law Gordon Taylor. The funeral service was held at the Church of the Advent in Plum Point at 2:00pm with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Burial followed at the Anglican Cemetery on Darby's Island. DIAMOND, LENORA PEARL GAYE

Lenora Pearl Gaye (Colbourne) Diamond was born to Ferdinand and Stella (Budden) Colbourne of Little Brehat on July 15, 1945. When she was 10 years old she and her family moved to St. Anthony where she continued her schooling. Gaye took up employment at the Bank of Nova Scotia for a few years and she met and married the love of her life Calvin Diamond in 1967.  They had four children together. After the kids were all in school, Gaye went to work for Canada Post where she proudly worked for 19 years retiring in 2005. She enjoyed a wonderful life with Calvin raising their family. Gaye enjoyed to the fullest being at the cabin, cooking for family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren, and in her spare time she would love to play bingo, knit, read and play cards or scrabble.  Left with a life time of loving memories are her Husband Calvin, her children Darren (Shawna), Duane (Allison), Dean (Krista) and Lynn (Travis), nine grandchildren: Cara, Michelle (Darren), Mark, Paul (Duane), Danielle, Jenna, Sarah (Dean), Grant and Hannah (Lynn), sister Lois (Roger), niece Krysta (Travis), sister-in-law Dot, nephews Steve (Brenda) and Tom (Glenda), Brother-in-law Marvin (Edna), nephews Michael and Brent. She also leaves a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Calvin’s parents, and her brother Wayne.  Visitation was held at The Funeral Home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service was held at the united church in St. Anthony at 2:00pm on Friday, October 9th 2015 with Rev. Gus Pendelton officiating. Burial followed the service at the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. 1931 ~ 2015 Randolph Hopkins, surrounded by his family, was” Promoted to Glory” on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony, NL at the age of 84 years.
