BESSEY, GRETA DELORES

Passed peacefully away at the John M. Gray Center on the 5th day of September 2013. Mrs. Greta Bessey of Ship Cove was in her 91st year. She leaves to mourn her sons Roland and Ernest, Daughters Joyce, Hazel(Garland), and Elaine (Gary), her beloved Grandchildren Tony, Debbie, Shawn, Melva, Perry, Tiffany, Kim Decker, Sheldon, Kimberly, and Sheri,  and Six Great Grand-children, Brother Samuel  (Neva)Decker as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Reginald Bessey,  her parents George and May, granddaughter Sheri Smith, Brothers Kalman and Lloyd, sisters Gladys, Vera, and Madge. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal church in Ship cove, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 7th of September 2013 with pastor Tony Roberts Officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral director.

HILLIER, THOMAS BAXTER

Passes away peacefully at the John M. Gray Center on the 26th of August, 2013, Mr. Thomas Baxter Hillier of Griquet, in his 73rd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Irene, Daughter Tammy(Chad Anderson), Stepson Paul HUmby, Step-Daughter Myrna(Stan Earles), one Granddaughter Emma and three Step-Grandchildren Tristen, Chandler, Keisha, six brothers, two sisters, as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Laura and Stanley Hillier, brothers David and Hayward, Sisters Marion and Mable. Visitation was held at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in Griquet from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 30th day of August 2013 with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Interment followed in the Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director.  

 

COOMBS, WILFRED W. “BILL”

July 12, 1964 – Aug. 22, 2013

In the early morning hours of Aug. 22, 2013, following a brief struggle with cancer, Bill was called home by his heavenly father and reunited with his earthy father, Wilfred Coombs. He leaves behind his life-mate Gloria Tucker; mother Ruby Coombs; brother John (Vonnie); father-in-law Harold Tucker Sr.; brothers-in-law Harold G. (Fanny) Tucker and Dean Tucker; nephews Jamie (Shelley), and Boyd (Heidi); and great-nieces Alexis Tucker, Anna Tucker, Alyson Caines and Aria Tucker. Bill also leaves behind a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins and a huge circle of friends. Bill made a big impact on the many health-care professionals who got to know him during his illness and they have joined his circle of friends. He was predeceased by his father Wilfred. Passed peacefully away on the 22nd of August 2013c at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. Mr. Allan George Burden of St. Lunaire-Griquet was in his 68th year. He leaves to  mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Shirley, Son Paul (Lillian), Daughters Cleo (Paul) Tracey (Sheldon), Thresa (Kevin), Trudy(Randy), ten grandchildren Jeffrey, April, Clarissa, Dylan, Danielle, Braydon, Alexander, Mackenzie, Summer Lee, Jonah, two great grandchildren Victoria, Jaxon, one brother and five sisters as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Parents Hazel and Harrison Burden, Brothers Ralph, Hayward, Roland. Passed away peacefully on 18th of August 2013 at hte White Bay Heath Center in Roddickton. Mr. Rlaph Randell of Englee was in his 67th year. He was predeceased by his Parents Dawe and Bessie Mitchell and Sister Brenda. PATEY, DENNIS ROSS

Passed away peacefully at the Dr. L. A. Miller Center in St. John’s with his family by his side on the 29th of July, 2013, Mr. Dennis Ross Patey of St. Anthon, in his 61st year. Left to mourn his passing are his loving and faithful wife of 41 years Millicent, his son Jason (Kara), Daughter Delaura (Larry), Granddaughters’ Kieley and Mackenzie (they were his pride and joy). Though he himself has passed at a young age, Dennis lived to feel the loss of his father Arch, his brother Darren and daughter Trenna.  Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony, Followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm on the 3rd of August, 2013 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. Burial followed the service at the united church fishing point cemetery, Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 27th of July, Mr. Claude Hughes of Green Island Brook in his 63rd year.  Left to mourn his passing are his wife Vera Hughes, his sons Shane, Andy (Dara), and Ryan, his grandchildren Adam and Hartley, As well as his brothers William, Roland, Nathaniel (Patricia), Israel (Francis), Whyman and Winston (Mona), sisters Amy (Stanley), Elva, Beulah (David), Sheila (Frank), and sister in-law Phoebe.  Despite his young age Claude lived through the passing of his parents John and Bridget, his brother Baxter, sisters Stella and Maria as well as his in-laws’ Orval, Margaret and Rosie.  Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 30th of July with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay person Maxine Hughes officiating.  Burial followed the service in the Green Island Brook Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M.
