HODGE, SIBYL

March 28, 1947 - July 4, 2024

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL on July 4, 2024 at the age of 77 years.

Sibyl was born and raised in Savage Cove and spent her entire life in the community Everyone in and around the community was always met with her beautiful smile and her positive attitude, one that she carried no matter what the circumstances were.

There was no trouble to catch her at one of the local bingo games or card games in the surrounding communities at any given night. She was most proud of her boys Morgan and Bradley and would do anything for them and her grandsons. Her heart was as pure as they came and every one who knew her had no choice but to love her. She was an amazing wife, mom, Nan, sister and friend.

She is forever loved and remembered by her Son: Brad and family, Daughter-in-law: Jenny and family; Grandchildren: Brett, Bradley, and Ty; Sister: Jessie and family; Brother-in-law: Scott and family; Brother-in-law: Harvey and family; Brother-in-law: Wilson and family; Sister-in-law: Olga and family; Sister-in-law: Minnie and family, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband: Sterling; Son: Morgan; Sister: Barb; and her parents: Hilda and Henry Way; Sisters-in-law: Lorraine and Lucy; Brother-in-law: Clifford and Lloyd.

Sibyl was blessed to have the best homecare workers Diane, Carmel and Jenny who went above and beyond to keep her home, right where she wanted to be. We will be forever grateful for the care she received and all the time she got to sit in her favourite chair and look out her window.

We would like to thank the Staff at Curtis Memorial Hospital, the Health Science center as well as the Flowers Cove hospital for all the care that Sibyl received during multiple visits. She was very lucky to have you all.

Visitation to take place from the St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Savage Cove on Saturday, July 6, 2024 and Sunday July 7, 2024. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Canon Short officiating. Interment to follow.
