It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine (Cack) Green announce her passing on August 5, 2015 at Charles Curtis Memorial Hospital at the age of 69 years. Left to mourn are her sons Mike (Rhonda) Green, David Green; daughter Janet (Wayne) Green; brothers Bruce (Fran) Patey, John (Carmel) Patey, Paul (Janet) Patey, Wade (Corinne) Patey; sisters-in-law Joyce Johnson, Judy Wall, Phyllis (Don) Otterbeck, Rosemary Green, Carol (Fred) Pilgrim; brothers in law Bill Green, Gerald Green, Bob (Madge) Green, Terry (Mary) Green; granddaughters Kimberly Green, Ashley Green and Morgan Green. She was predeceased by her husband Keith Green; parents John and Berdina Patey; parents-in-law Hayward and Jemima Green; brother Mark Johnson; brothers-in-law Alton Green, Joe Green; and sister-in-law Blanche Green. Visitation took place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in St. Anthony from where the funeral was held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. with Father Paul Findlay officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

 

WHITE, NOAH MAXWELL

Passed away on July 31, 2015, Noah White, in his 63rd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Gladys; son Michael (Ashley); Grandchildren Breah, Kylen; mother Dulcie; brothers Curling (Wanda), Jim (Marlene); sisters Olga (Wayne), Marion Ann (Lyman); nephews Dwayne, Ramsey, Ricky, Andrew, Andy; uncle Jimmy (Belinda); aunts Ann and Velma as well as a circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Curling and brother Ramsey. Visitation took place at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Sandy Cove from where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday August 4, 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

HEDDERSON, LOUISE D.

Passed away on August 1, 2015 in her 54th year. Louise Hedderson was born in St. Anthony, NL on October 12, 1960 to Stewart and Levinia Hedderson of Noddy Bay. A number of years ago she moved to St. Anthony where she resided until her passing.  Louise was predeceased by her parents and her sister Ivy. Left to mourn are her partner Tony Short, daughter Amanda (Darryl), son Steve (Courtney) and grandson Matayo. Also left to mourn are sisters Selma (Alfred) Matchim, Jane (Ben) Rumbolt, Marion (Vincent) Tatchell, and Hazel Hedderson; brothers Henry (Marie), Thomas (Glenda), Cecil & Stewart. Visitation took place at the Salvation Army Citadel, St. Anthony from where the funeral service was held at 2pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 with Major Dinzel Baggs officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard, funeral director.

ROSE, ELIZABETH (BETTY) JANE BURRY

She passed peacefully away surrounded by her family at the John M. Gray Centre on the 13th day of July 2015. Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Rose of Flower’s Cove was in her 92nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her nine children Pierce Rose, Rosiland (the late William Carey), Agnes(Sam) Genge, Norman(Brenda) Rose, Barbara(George) Coles, Wayne(Olga) Rose, Daphne(Claude) Genge, Henry Rose, and Dean(Belinda) Rose, her twenty-one Grandchildren, Thirty-Four Great Grandchildren, and Two Great- Great- Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews , two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Rose, her twin Brother Pierce Burry, Sisters Mabel Bishop, Olive English, Agnes Burry, her Grandchildren Elizabeth Rose, Baby Boy Rose, Perry Rose, her parents Pierce and Martha Burry, and her Parents-in-law Archibald and Agnes Rose. Cremation had taken place followed by visitation at the United Church in Flower’s Cove followed by the memorial service which was held at 2:00pm on the 19th day of July 2015 with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Inurnment took place in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

STEVENS, VERONICA

Veronica Stevens passed away peacefully at the Northern Lights Regional Health Center in Fort McMurray, Alberta on July 13th 2015 surrounded by her immediate family. She leaves to mourn with loving memories her Husband Jock Stevens, Daughters Kelly Rodgers & Kendall Young and Son Jock Stevens Jr , Grandchildren Cody Rogers & Kaylee Young and her Brothers and Sisters ( Augustine Anscome,Thersea Rumbolt,Ruby Rumbolt ,Ismay Gould ,Wanda Gaulton, Bernard Rumbolt ,Glenn Rumbolt ,Nish Rumbolt,Ambrose Rumbolt, Simon Rumbolt. She was predeceased by her Mother Charlotte Mary Rumbolt, Father Ambrose Rumbolt. Visitation was  held at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Bird Cove, Newfoundland from which the funeral services took place at 12:00 Noon Sunday July 19th 2015 with Father John Bosco officiating. Interment Services followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home. St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral directer. 

TAYLOR, KITTY

 It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Ms. Kitty Taylor announce her passing at the Straits of Belle Isle Health Center on the 10th day of July 2015, Ms. Kitty Taylor of Forrester’s Point was in her 67th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Son Dennis Taylor(Patsy), Daughters Roxanne Lavallee(Randy) and Jackie Taylor(Raymond), Grandchildren Sylvester Taylor(Chantel), Ethan Taylor, and Rainna Kate Lavallee as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her Mother Emily Taylor, Father Isaiah Taylor, Brothers Harold Taylor and Walter Taylor, Nephew John Stephen Taylor, Great-Nephew P.G. Genge, and Great Niece Renitta Genge. Visitation was held at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Black Duck Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Monday July 13th, 2015 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. COOMBS, STEWART

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 23rd day of June 2015, Mr. Stewart Coombs of Shoal Cove West was in his 73rd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Bessie, Son Angus, Daughter-in-Law Holly Coombs, Grandson Jeffrey Robicheau, Sisters Selina Coombs, Eliza Tucker, Jessie Coombs, Brothers Harrison(Jessie), Noah(Georgina), Sam(Linda), Angus, Clarence, his In-Laws Hayward Baines, Effie Coombs, Mahala Coombs as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Mother Evangeline Coombs, Father Samuel Coombs, Brothers Rendell, Edmund, Jacob, Chess, and Tom, Sisters Hazel and Lucy. Visitation was held at the St. Margaret's Anglican Church in Reef's Harbour from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on Friday  the 26th day of June 2015 with Rev. Harold Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre's funeral homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan 

COLBOURNE, WESLEY

Passed away at the White Bay Central Health Center on the 13th of June, 2015, Mr. Wesley Colbourne of Roddickton in his 80th year.  left to mourn is passing are his sons Gary (Violet), Alvin, Lorne (Lucinda), Austin, Terry (Belinda), Keith (Lisa), daughters Ivy (Guy), Rita (Stephen), Wavey (Wayne), 23 grandchildren and 13 Great grandchildren. Wesley was pre deceased by his wife Ida, Parents Gideon and Mary-Ann, son Wesley Jr., Sister Blanche Fillier, Brothers Harvey Colbourne, Jack Colbourne, Kenneth Colbourne, and Richard Colbourne. visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in Roddickton, from which the funeral service was held at 3:00pm on Tuesday June 16th, 2015, with Pastor Benjamin Brown officiating. burial followed the service in the Roddickton Pentecostal Cemetery. Funeral Services were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director. 

MAHAR, PETER JOSEPH

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Peter Joseph Mahar announces his passing at the Curtis Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony on June 13, 2015 in his 90th year. He leaves to mourn a loving family, Children; Ellen (Tony), Jean, Noreen, Joe (Darlene), Josephine (Riley), Hiram (Todd), Terrance (Karen), Wade (Judy), Monica (Percy), Mary (Danny), Dennis (Wanda) and Brother Pat, brother-in-law Victor (Mary): 14 grandchildren, 12 great -grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Maggie (nee Caines), his parents James and Helen (nee Pittman) Mahar, and Brother James (Hilda), sisters, Alice Myers (Jim), Mary Kennedy (Wes), Theresa Doyle (Pat), Elizabeth Caines (Douglas), Rita Caines (Raymond), Johanna Caines (Peter) and sister-in-law Dorothy.  Visitation was held at Our Lady of Grace Parish, Bird Cove where the funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bosco and Fr. O‘Quinn officiating.  Interment followed at the Bird Cove Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre‘s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton.  He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.  He will live on in our hearts forever

ALCOCK, LEWIS WINSTON

Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 11th of June, 2015, Mr. Lewis Winston Alcock in his 72nd year with his wife Joyce and son Paul at his side. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Joyce, son Paul(Dawn), daughter Lisa (Ricky) and 5 grandchildren: Joshua, Grace, Andrea, Reid and Bria, brother Jack, and four sisters: Enid, Kathy (Donald),Alice(Stan), Jean (George)and son-in-law Robert.  He was predeceased by his daughter Deanne and parents John and Gladys Alcock. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, After which the Funeral service took place at the St. Mary's Anglican Church in St. Anthony at 2:00pm on the 15th of June 2015 with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating. Burial followed the service in the St. Anthony Anglican Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Mary's Anglican Church Cemetery Fund may be made.
