Passed away peacefully at the Dr. L. A. Miller Center in St. John’s with his family by his side on the 29th of July, 2013, Mr. Dennis Ross Patey of St. Anthon, in his 61st year. Left to mourn his passing are his loving and faithful wife of 41 years Millicent, his son Jason (Kara), Daughter Delaura (Larry), Granddaughters’ Kieley and Mackenzie (they were his pride and joy). Though he himself has passed at a young age, Dennis lived to feel the loss of his father Arch, his brother Darren and daughter Trenna. Visitation took place at the funeral home in St. Anthony, Followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm on the 3rd of August, 2013 with Rev. Stephanie McClellan officiating. HUGHES, CLAUDE
Passed away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on the 27th of July, Mr. Claude Hughes of Green Island Brook in his 63rd year. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Vera Hughes, his sons Shane, Andy (Dara), and Ryan, his grandchildren Adam and Hartley, As well as his brothers William, Roland, Nathaniel (Patricia), Israel (Francis), Whyman and Winston (Mona), sisters Amy (Stanley), Elva, Beulah (David), Sheila (Frank), and sister in-law Phoebe. Despite his young age Claude lived through the passing of his parents John and Bridget, his brother Baxter, sisters Stella and Maria as well as his in-laws’ Orval, Margaret and Rosie. Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lower Cove, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on the 30th of July with Rev. Marlene Harvey and Lay person Maxine Hughes officiating. Burial followed the service in the Green Island Brook Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Gladys Rachel Elliott on July 19, 2013. Gladys Rachel Elliott was in her 86th year. She also leaves to mourn, her brother George, her sister-in-law Dora Loder. She also leaves to mourn many special nieces and nephews, a large group of friends, including her friends at Anglican Church Women’s League. She is predeceased by her parents, Rachel and Lot Elliott, her brothers Fred and Ernest, her sisters Grace and Violet. She leaves behind with many cherised and happy memories her ‘darling’ husband, Wilfred, of 61 years, her sons Neil (Marie), Roy and Wayne (Bride), her grandchildren Christopher, Michelle, Allison, Kurt, Stephen and Adam, and her great granddaughter, Sophie. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral Home on Monday July 22nd, 2013 2-4 and 7-9 from which the Funeral service took place on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 2 pm at St. Mary’s Anglican Church with Fr. Rev Paul Findlay officiating. Cremation followed after the service. In lieu of flowers Donations gratefully accepted to the Anglican Church Cemetery Fund.
