March 20, 1945 - January 16, 2021
On the evening on January 16, 2021, at the age of 75, Carl passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour who he loved and served faithfully since an early age. He was a beloved husband, son, father, brother, grand-father, uncle and friend. Carl grew up in Griquet with a large family of five brothers and six sisters. He fished with his dad as a young boy until he moved to Goose Bay to work for Eastern Provincial Airlines. He married the love of his life, Yvonne Hedderson, on January 13, 1968 in Goose Bay and they started a family of four children in 1969. Carl and his young family moved back to Griquet in 1972, where he worked at Lewis's shop and then with TRA as a regional salesman until he retired. He was a jack of all trades and could do anything he put his mind to. He loved everything outdoors, woodworking, boat building, and being goofy. He will be forever loved and always in our hearts. He leaves to mourn his wife Yvonne; four children Carla (Shawn), Gradon (Dulcie), Lorna (Keith), and Cordella (Stephen); five grandchildren Joshua, Taylor, Andrea, Jonah and Julianna; mother Marshall (Lewis); siblings Jean (Gus), Joyce, Ruby (Phillip), Lawrence (Kathi), Joy (Allan), Alasdair (Faye), and Darrell (Ivy); long-time friend Ed Parr; and a large circle of other close relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Gordon, brother Gus, sisters Nancy and Patsy, and brothers-in-law Hayward and Guy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family. PILGRIM, WHITFIELD
March 21, 1946 - January 5, 2021
Whitfield Pilgrim was born on March 21, 1946 to Cecil and Eliza (Hedderson) Pilgrim in Noddy Bay. As a young boy he moved with his family to Main Brook. It was here that he spent his life. In 1968 he married Julia Noseworthy and together they raised five children. He worked with Bowaters until it ceased operation in Main Brook. He then went fishing. Whit was man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed working in the woods, being out in boat, sealing and fishing. On Tuesday night he passed peacefully away at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julia, his children Craig (Linda), Kent (Laura), Blaine, Darrell (Selina) and Melanie (Trevor), as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Pearce and Eddie, and his sister Myra and sister-in-law Shirley. He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Eliza and his brother Garry. He will be sadly missed. The private funeral service was held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm from the Main Brook United Church with Rev. John McGonigle officiating. Interment followed. COLES, EDMUND
December 18, 1940 - January 6, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a very special man, Edmund Coles. Edmund was born in Sandy Cove on December 18, 1940 to Ralph and Stella (White) Coles. He lived most of his life in Sandy Cove until he moved to Goose Bay for the last 3 years. He was the second of Twelve children and is predeceased by his brothers Howard and Albert, and his parents Ralph and Stella Coles. Edmund was a very well-known man who always thought of others before himself. He fished most of his life with his brothers and was Captain of the Viking Trail fishing boat. 10 years prior to his retirement he worked in PEI with his son-in-law Gary Larter in the construction business. Edmund loved the outdoors working in the woods, hunting and fishing.
Edmund is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Eliza Coles; his daughters: Zena (Tony) Curlew, Roxanne (Gary) Larter, his sons: Jeff (Dr. Joyce) Coles, Johnny (Gaye) Coles; 8 grandchildren: Johnathon Larter, Amy Curlew, Aleyah Coles, Ella Coles, Allissa Coles, Scarlett Coles, Jake Coles, and Jayme Coles; siblings Vivian Coles, Eldred (Evelyn) Coles, Eileen (Clyde) White, Lucy (George) White, Margaret Coles, Ralph Coles, Daisy Coles, Whyman (Marilyn) Coles, and Joy (Roland) White; special friend Gaye Rogers; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the dialysis staff at both the St. Anthony and Goose Bay Hospitals for their exemplary care over the last 14 years. Also wanted to thank Dr. Paul and his staff at the Health Science Center, in St. John's for never giving up on Edmund – very much appreciated.

MITCHELMORE, RHODA SUSAN
Is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Rhoda Susan Mitchelmore on December 28th, 2020. She passes at home with her husband by her side. . Born July 23rd 1936 to Amy and Jim McLean. She was the eldest of 7 kids. She is predeceased by her son Dean and mom and Dad Amy and Jim, sisters Millicent and Maisie. Mother and father in law Tom and Mamie Ellen. Brother in laws. Mainland and Harvey. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Graydon Mitchelmore. Son Jasper, daughters Jill and May. Grandchildren Graydon (Tammy), Deanie, Michael, Tammy. Great grandchildren Darrius and Marcus. Sister. Mamie Ellen, brothers John Thomas (Winnie), Vincent (Jessie) and Marcel (Eura). Sister in laws Bertha, Velma (Wally), Myrtle (Ren). She will be missed by many of her furry grandkids, Posie will especially miss his Nans’s cuddles. Rhoda Susan was devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a kind hearted person who had many friends and loved by all who knew her. She was an amazing cook and baker. She loved sharing what she made with family and friends or just people she met. You would never go to her home and leave hungry. She enjoyed a good game of cards and knitting, she knit socks for many family and friends as well as the homeless and kids at Janeway. If there was anyone in need she was there to help.
HEDDERSON, SARAH ELIZABETH
Sarah E. Hedderson, Born Feb. 22nd, 1925, passed into peace on the Dec. 26th of 2020 at her private residence in Straitsview NL. Sarah married Samuel Hedderson on April 5th, 1945. at Spillards Cove NL (Straitsview). Together they raised six children; Erdie, Bernard, Maysie, Carrie, Phillip, Shawn and Erdiel. Sarah worked as a house keeper in the early years and retired from fishing around age 61. She enjoyed the outdoors and spent a lot of time in the woods, gardening and Berry Picking. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and mat hooking. Sarah was a loving grandmother of 20 grandchildren. She also had a large number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Sarah will be lovingly missed by her family and a large circle of friends and relatives. She leaves to mourn Erdie Stroud, Bernard Hedderson, Maysie (Alvohn) Pilgrim, Carrie Beaufield, Phillip (Linda) Hedderson, Shawn Hedderson, and Erdie (Edward) Hynes. Sarah is also survived by her two sisters Florence Hedderson and Jessie Tucker. Sarah was predeceased by her husband Samuel, her parents Charles and Rebecca Decker, her daughter Edna, Her brothers Samuel, Avalock, Henry, Charles and Wilbert, her sisters Beulah and Bertha. The visitation and memorial service for Sarah was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony at 10am on the 30th of December, 2020 with Rev. CULL, RONALD WILLIAM

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a very special man, Ronald (Ron) William Cull. Ron was born in St. Anthony on March 13, 1939 to Uriah and Lavinia (Pilgrim) Cull. Ron lived all of his life in Great Brehat until he moved into the John M. Gray Centre approximately 3 years ago. He was the second of eight children. Ron is predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Cull, his parents Uriah and Lavinia Cull, his brother Wallace Cull and his two sisters Beatrice Cull and Ethel Ward. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Cull; his sons: Scott (Veronica) Cull, Morgan Cull (Joanna), and Frank Cull (Darlene); 6 grandchildren: Luke Cull (Shawna), Trevor Elliott (Tara), Robert Cull (Samantha), Rodney Elliott (Katie), Kathy Cull (Marcus), and Jenny Brown; 7 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Pearl Patey, Pearce Cull, Norman (Margaret) Cull, and Carl (Lillian) Cull; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Ron was a Jack of all trades, from the fishing boat to labor work and everything in between. He was a security guard at the Viking Mall in St. Anthony for 19 years and was a dedicated member of the LOL Lodge in St. Anthony for 50+ years. Ron was a devoted accordion player who truly loved to entertain and play music for any audience. Ron along with his two brothers Norman and Pearce and very close friends Jerry Kean, Will Whyatt, and Will Joe Simmonds were members of a local band called The Pumper Boys. The band entertained many people all over the Northern Peninsula and across Southern Labrador for many years. Ron was an avid volunteer who spent countless hours volunteering for many organizations and seniors homes. Ron contributed greatly to his family, friends, and community. He was a very well known man who always thought of others before himself.
The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the nursing staff at the John. M. Gray Centre in St. Anthony where Ron resided for almost 3 years. Their professionalism and empathy during Ron’s stay, day in and day out, did not go unnoticed.

In the early morning of December 8, 2020, at Curtis Memorial Hospital with his family at his side, Guy at the age of 77, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior who he loved and served faithfully from a young age. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be forever missed and always in our hearts. Guy grew up in Little Brehat and from a young age had the responsibility of the household after his mom passed away when he was only 12. From that, grew a love of cooking. After he grew up and left home, he went to college to complete a cooking trade. Guy worked in a variety of places with his trade, from the Newfoundland Railway to Grenfell Regional Health Services until his retirement in 2006, then went back to work at sea which he dearly loved. Guy met and married the love of his life, Joyce in 1969 and raised 2 boys in a loving home. He is forever remembered and loved by, devoted wife, Joyce; sons: Darin (Kristen) and Devin (Andrea); grandchildren: Zachary, Simon, Erica and Kate; brother, Melvin; sister, Jessie (Leonard) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. With great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Andrea Reardon (nee Rice). Mary passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4th, 2020 at Curtis Memorial Hospital with her family at her side. Left with a lifetime of fond memories, her Husband, Herb; Children, Connie (Jerome), Tanya (Junior), Melissa (Ross), Patrick (Caroline), Darren (Connie), and Chad; Grandchildren, Shae, Felicia, Samantha, Sarah, Sharron, Cole, Taylor Rae, Ty, Zachary, Kenny, Jesse, Jessica and Jordan; Great-grandchildren Allie and Jaxon; Sister, Ruth; Sisters-in-law, Ida (John), Mae (Wayne); Brothers-in-law, Be (Imelda), Louis (Norma), Eric (Eileen), Reuben Elliott as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents Hazel and William Rice; Brother, Eli; Sisters, Millie and Gladys; Son-in-law Louis; Her in-laws, Patrick and Agnes Reardon; Sister-in-law Mildred Sexton. Mary loved cooking Sunday dinners and regardless of whoever showed up at her house- there was always enough cooked for everyone. Mary also loved talking on the phone to her many friends. We are sure they miss her calls every day - and sometimes two or three times a day. Cremation has taken place with burial to be announced at a later date.
