Dave was born to Barbara and Laco Hunt on July 19, 1943 in Brighton, England. After the war, the family settled in Canada where his father took a job with the Federal Government. As a result of this, Dave spent several years in Canada’s Arctic when he was young. Maybe it was his time there that gave him love of the north as he was passionate about Labrador. After college, Dave took a job with the Hudson’s Bay Company spending time in the company’s northern posts in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, and Quebec. His desire to live in Labrador and his wish to start his own business made him eventually leave the Hudson’s Bay Company and he began his career as an entrepreneur in Goose Bay. His business included a furniture store, a television and cable business, and an office supply store. Dave was also very active with the Rotary Club and the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce, serving a term as President. He was a great advocate for Labrador and took every opportunity to promote and connect businesses in Central Labrador to other Northern regions through conferences and trade shows. In the late 1970’s Dave met his life’s partner, Bella Hodge and her family became his family. Dave was so proud to be called “Pop” by the grandchildren; they were his pride and joy. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.  He leaves to mourn his partner Bella Hodge; Step-Children Dana (Donna), Lyndon (Mary), Stephanie Jill (Monty), Stanley John, and Gina Belle (Adrian); Grandchildren Elizabeth, Ian, Conor, Ciara, Anakin, Brady, and Jennifer; Great-Grandchild Journey; Brother Peter (Joyce); Cousin Benita and Don Marshall (Queensland, Australia) as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
