CULL, RITA CARMEN

Passed away into peace on the 28th of February 2015 at the Health Science Center in St. John’s, Mrs. Rita C. Cull of St. Anthony in her 71st year. Left to mourn her loss are her husband Glossen Cull, daughter Judy Cull, Sons Terry and Gordon Cull; daughters in law Tara Cull and Vanessa Simms, 6 grandchildren, Sister Sandra Sinyard and Brothers Jim and William Sinyard as well as a large circle of family and friends. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service was held at the Salvation Army Church at 2:00pm on the 8th of March 2015 with Major Kathleen Baggs Officiating, burial will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger Funeral Director. 

ANDERSON, ALFRED

Passed peacefully away on February 27th at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, Alfred Anderson in his 89th year. Predeceased by parents Charles and Delena, and brothers Job and Gower. Survived by wife Pearl; children Jim (Ann), Audrey (Tabi), and Dwight (Judy); grandchildren Terri (Ian), Khatija, Yasmin, and Amy (Gerry); brothers Maxwell (Gladys), and Dorman (Rose); sister-in-laws Helen and Dorothy Anderson; as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews. Visitation was held at the Funeral home in St. Anthony, from which the Funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Thursday March 5th with Rev. Fr. Paul C. Findlay officiating, burial followed the service in the St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery, in lieu of Flowers memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements where entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral director. 

MITCHELMORE, DORCAS

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 26th day of February 2015. Mrs. Dorcas Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove was in her 72nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 52years Winston, her children Winston, Marlene(Eric), Faye(Gerald), Julie(Harvey), Milton(Susan), Josie(Dwight), Grandchildren Jordan, Susie, Brandi, Robby, Jada, Danny, Chuck, Brady, Michelle, Monique, Great- Grandchildren Chloe, Isaac, Peyton, Spencer, Bella, Layla, Sister Lydia(Eldred), Brothers George W. (Marina) and Whyman as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Reginald and Johanna, Sister Julie and Sister-in-Law Minnie. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 1st day of March 2015 with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Green Island Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director.

GENGE, GARFIELD

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 25th day of February 2015. Mr. Garfield Genge of Anchor Point was in his 79th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his Brother Pierce (wives Stella and Lourie deceased), Sister Joanna (Jacob deceased) Sinnicks, Sister-in-Law Renie (George deceased), many nephews, nieces, and Special Nephew Marvin (Louise) Genge, and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Sarah, his Siblings Lourie, Rachel, Douglas (Deborah), George, Emmanuel (Dora), and Margaret (Pierce) Sheppard. Visitation was held at the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Anchor Point from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on the 28th day of February 2015 with Rev. Irving Letto officiating. Interment followed in the New Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard funeral director. 

COLBOURNE, DORA MAUDE

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. St. Anthony on the 22nd of Feb. 2015, Mrs. Dora Maude Colbourne of L’Anse Aux Meadows in her 88th year. Left to mourn Maude’s passing are her sons Lester (Hope), Winston (Eliza), Clifford (Rosalyn), Clayton (Dorothy), Goward (Corrine), Daughters Faye Elliott (Amos), Emma Elliott, Hazel Tucker (Owen), son in law Gerard Noonan, 28 Grandchildren, 32 Great grandchildren, and 10 Great grandchildren. Maude was predeceased by her husband Harvey Colbourne, parents William and Emma Bartlett, sisters Mamie Taylor and Violet Pilgrim, brothers Harvey and Wayne Colbourne, Daughter Selma Noonan and Son in law Ozwald Elliott. Visitation was held at the Central United Church at 2:00pm at Quirpon Branch on the 25th of February 2015 with Rev. Gus Pendleton Officiating. Burial followed the service in the L’Anse Aux Meadow’s Community cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatres Funeral home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Lee Nippard Funeral Director. 

TROY, DENNIS ANTHONY

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 21st day of February 2015. Mr. Dennis Anthony Troy of Goose Cove was in his 68th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 41 years Leona, Sons Darren(Debbie) and Peter(Mindy), Daughter Charmaine Alyward(Edward), Grandchildren Corey, Travis, Kendra, Jamie, Jake, Jenna, Courtney, Eve, Logan, and Addison, Brothers Vince, Mike, Felix(Edna), and Garry(Flo), Sisters Minnie Walsh, Gertie (Bax) Pilgrim,  Mother-in- Law Kathleen Woodford, and Brother-in-law Will Cull as well as a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Parents Peter and Rita Troy, Sister Ann Cull, Fahter-in-Law James Woodford, and Brother-in-Law Pat Walsh. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral mass was held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Goose Cove at 2:00pm on the 24th day of February 2015 with Fr. Vitus Echedo officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery in Goose Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. COLBOURNE, WARRICK (LOU)

Passed away into peace at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 19th day of February, 2015 with his family by his side. Mr. Warrick (Lou) Colbourne of St. Anthony was in his 58th year.  Left to mourn his loss are his wife Agnes Colbourne, Son Shane (Tammy), his children Crystal and Shannon, son Sheldon (Sarah) his children Ethan and Shannel, Daughter Samantha (Denzil) her child Emma, Brothers Ford (Rita), Wesley (Elizabeth), Oscar (Patrica), Alvin (Carol), Derrick (Donna), Sister Denise (Jim), several Nieces and Nephews, Aunts and Uncles and a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his Mother and Father George and Linda Colbourne. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre funeral home in St. Anthony, after which the funeral service was held at the Salvation Army church at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015 with Major Dinzel Baggs officiating, burial followed in the church cemetery. GENGE, SUSANNA

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 18th day of February 2015. Mrs. Susanna Genge of Anchor Point was in her 91st year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Sheila Coles, Sons Tony(Sadie); Robert(Clara); Cyril(Julie); Sisters Donalda McDonald and Flora Murdock; Ten Grandchildren and Fifteen Great Grandchildren; Daughter-in-Laws Elizabeth and Ivy as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harrison; sons Albert and Charlie; Daughter-in-law Marie, Son-in-Law Lambert Coles Sister Virtue and Parents Albert and Jessie Rose. Visitation was held at the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Anchor Point from which the funeral service was held on Friday, February 20th, 2015 at 2:00pm with Rev. Irving Letto officiating. RANDELL, NAOMI

Naomi Randell, age 92 was born in Williamsport NL Dec 16, 1922. She passed peacefully away Friday Feb 6th, 2015 at The Angus Pratt Nursing Home in St. John's, NL.  Leaving to mourn her beloved children Freeman Randell, Eileen Evans (Dave), Scott Randell (Rae), Grant Randell (Bonetta) & Dean Randell (Debbie); her beloved grandchildren Ingrid Evans (Dave), Timothy Randell & Brett Gillard; Brother-in law Rueben Randell (Nellie); Nephew Craig Randell & Niece Karen Hann (Shane); along with a wide circle of family and friends. .   Predeceased by her husband Timothy Randell & Daughter Bernice Randell. Visitation was held at the United Church in Englee from which the funeral service took place on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:00pm. Interment followed at the New United Church Cemetery. LAWRENCE, SARAH EVANGELINE (EVA)

Born in St. Anthony on the 20th of March 1923 to Ambrose and Gertrude Sulley (Pynn) of St. Anthony, NL.  Eva married Joseph Horatio Lawrence of Port-aux-Basque, NL. on April 19, 1949, and together they had two sons, Dennis and Orville. She lived a full life with many accomplishments and pastimes, including completing her Teaching Diploma at Memorial University in St. Johns, teaching in northern Newfoundland at Griquet, Quirpon, Main Brook, and the Grenfell School in St. Anthony. Eva was best known for her support of the Curtis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary where she actively participated in the gift shop, and continued knitting for the auxiliary up to the just a few days before her passing.  Eva was always an active woman, with interests in education and community service.  She was supportive in the Lions Club, Athletic Club and the Hospital auxiliary. Eva passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2015 at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony with her family by her side, at the great age of 91.  Left to mourn are her sons Dennis and Orville, 5 Grandchildren, Matthew Joseph, Ryan Everett, Reginald Joseph, Olivia Marie, Julia Sarah Anne, Daughter-in-Law, Kelly Lawrence, Sister Gloria Marshall and Sister-in-Law Emily Sulley as well as close family, Don and Linda Loder, Karla Loder, Lee Hillier and Shirley Farrell, Brother-in-Law Fred Lawrence, Sisters-in-Laws Shirley Yard and Clarinda Lawrence. Eva was predeceased by her loving husband Joe, parents Ambrose and Gertrude Sulley, Brothers Robert (Bob), Russ Sulley, as well as her sister Zilda Hillier.  In the last year, Eva was blessed with wonderful care from the Hospital Staff (1st Floor), Home Care (all the personal touches) and her many friends and the Great Staff at Shirley’s Haven, she loved you all. Visitation is being held at The Funeral Home in St. Anthony, Followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00am on Tuesday February 10th, 2015  from the St. Anthony United Church with Rev. Dinesh Gomes officiating. A private interment will follow on Wednesday February 11, 2015 at 4:00pm at the Fishing Point Cemetery in St. Anthony.  Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Kerry M.
