WALKER, ANTHONY (TONY) C.

 On September 3, 2014 Tony Walker of St. Anthony passed peacefully away in St. John’s at the Health Science Center, he was 53 years old.  He is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Christopher (Tylee), Heidi (John) and Krysta (Travis) as well as two grandchildren Aadyn and Addyson.  He is also survived by his mother Evelyn, sisters Jean (Jim), Joan (Bill), Dona (Wilson), Linda (Bill), and special sister Rachel Handrigan as well as mother-in-law Blanche Burt. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Selwyn (Ivy), Nita, Charl (Gaye), Carl (Selma), Guy (Karen), Eva (Riley) and Joyce (Roy), also many nieces and nephews, friends and co-workers.  He was predeceased by his father Jospeh, grandparents Frederick and Christina Slade, niece Andrea, nephew Adam, mother-in-law Naomi Strangemore and father-in-law Reuben Burt. Tony will be always remembered and missed. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Antony, after which the funeral service was held at the Saint Anthony United Church, St. Anthony, at 2:30pm with rev. John McGonigle officiating. Burial followed the service at the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. PATEY, PHYLLIS BLANCHE

Phyllis was born to Josiah and Winnifred Kearley of Sop’s Arm, NL. She married Archibald Patey of little Brehat on July 18th, 1945. They raised ten children happily together in St. Anthony. Phyllis loved to cook, bake, knit, and especially sing and spend time with her grandchildren. Phyllis passed away in to perfect peace with her family around her at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony on the 4th of September, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Left with a lifetime of loving memories are her sons Rex (Leah), Don (Masie), Terry (Karen), Randy (Mary), Glenn (Gail), Kirby (Glennis) her Daughters Thelma (Lew), Judy (Ernie), Daughter in law Millicent, 25 Grandchildren and 26 Great- Grandchildren, she will be forever loved and sadly missed by all her knew her. Phyllis lived to see the passing of her Husband Archibald Patey, her sons Dennis Patey and Darren Patey and her granddaughter Treena Patey.  Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in St. Anthony, from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on Saturday September 6th with Pastor Jeff Bessey officiating. PEYTON, ROLAND

Passed away into peace surrounded by his four children at the health science center on August 27th, 2014, Mr. Roland Peyton of St. Lunaire Griquet in his 82nd year. Roland Leaves to mourn his common law wife Rowena Dredge, his children Darren (April Ward), Deann (Jeff Wyatt), Denise (Andy Labelle), Dwayne (Tara Peyton), his grandchildren Hailee, Brady, Luke, and Taylor, great grandchild Bentley and Step Grandchildren Scott, Chelsey and Randy. In his time Roland lived to see the passing of his wife Mae, his parents William and Liza, Sisters Ethel, Victoria, Jessie, hazel, Marie and Netta and his brother John. Visitation was held at the Pentecostal Church in St. Lunaire-Griquet, from which the funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 31st 2014 with pastor Wayne Baker Officiating, burial followed the service in the church Cemetery. CULL, GRETA OLIVE

Passed peacefully away at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 28th day of August 2014. Mrs. Greta Olive Cull of St. Anthony was in her 66th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Ernest, Daughter, Kristin(Rich), beloved Grandson Ethan, family dog and friend Molly, Sisters Marjorie (Eric), Christina(Ian), Brothers Chester(Elsie) and Keith, Brothers In Law Albert(Jo), Gary(Irene), Gus(Cora), Benson(Daphne), Roy(Joyce), Sister in Law Dorothy(Dennis) as well as a number of nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. She was predeceased by her Father Joseph Slade, Mother Rita Slade, Brother Ronald, Sister Rose and Mother-in-law Dora. Visitation was held at the funeral home in St. Anthony followed the funeral service which took place at 2:00pm on the 31st day of August 2014 with Rev. John McGonigle Officiating. ROBERTS, VINA BESSEY

Passed away peacefully in her home at Ship Cove on the 15th day of August 2014. Mrs. Vina Roberts was in her 74th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her Sons Terry(Dorcas), Barry(Merle), Wade(Angela), Daughters Bernette(Cyril), Marion(Gerry), Lisa and Diane, Twenty-one Grandchildren and Thirty Great Grandchildren, Brothers Garfield(Lilly), Melvin(Dorothy), Hounsell(Gertie), Sisters Violet(Roy), Martha, Jessie(Everette), Effie, Rebecca, Lavinia(Al), and Verne(Jacque), along with a large circle of family and friends. Vina was predeceased by her Husband Bernard, her daughters Beverly and Phoebie and her parents James and Phoebie Bessey. Visitation was held on the 20th day of August 2014 at the United church in Ship Cove from which the funeral service was held at 2:0pm on the 21st day of August 2014 with Rev. COATES, THOMAS

Was Born in Eddies Cove East on the 26th day of June in 1931. He moved to Lanse au Claire and there is where he married his wife Agnes. He leaves to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other family as well as a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his wife Agnes, his Parents Philip and Susanna, Sisters Amy, Rita, Bessie, Alice, Brothers William, John, Edgar, Philip, Richard, and Reginald. Visitation was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lanse au Claire from which the funeral service took place at 2:00pm on Wednesday August 13, 2014 with Rev. Norman Cutler. GARDINER, PATRICK JOSEPH

It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Patrick Joseph Gardiner (Paddy) announce his peaceful passing on 9th day August at the St. Luke's Nursing Home in St. John's. Mr. Patrick Gardiner of Conche was in his 94th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons Martin(Patsy), Bernie(Paula), Pat(Paula), Daughters Madeline, Eileen (Troy), and Maureen(Gale), Grandchildren Robert, Stephen, Sheldon, Darren, Dwayne, Jenny, Jacinta, Bernard, Brady, Alexis, Andre, Michael, Cody, Megan, Candace, and Matthew, Great Grandchildren Brandon, Alex, Carter and Theo, Brother Ronald(Lucy), Sisters Susie(Pad), Agatha and Sister Zita, Special friends Gertie Carroll, Lucy Gardiner, Nell Byrne, and Marie Byrne, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mary(Tobin), his father Bernard, mother Mariah, Brothers Jack, Frank, Gerald, Cecil and Sister Bridget. Visitation was held at the Scared Heart Parish in Conche from which the funeral mass was held a t 2:00pm on the 12th day of August 2014 with Fr. Vitus Echedo officiating. It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Mrs. Grace Mary Dredge announce her passing at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 3rd day of August 2014. Mrs. Grace Dredge of Black Duck Cove was in her 51st year. She will always be remembered and loved by her beloved husband Clifford Sr. , Son Clifford Jr. (Amanda), daughter Laura(Chuck), Granddaughters Shelby, Halle, Bella, Grandsons Cody, and C.J, Brother Kenneth(Daphne), Sisters Laura(Don), Dawn(Sammie), Michelle and Ivy(Dave), Sister in laws Mona(Gerald), Marjorie(William), Brother-in-law Stephen as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her Father Donald, Mother Debbie, Mother-in-Law Rachel, Father-in-Law Absalom Sr., Brothers George, Albert, Nephew Kenneth Spence Jr., Niece Shara Lynn Spence. MOORES, MARY VICTORIA

Passed peacefully away surrounded by her family on July 26th Mrs. Mary Victoria Moore in her 79th year. Mary is survived by her children Matt(Sandra), Ethel(Brad), Alma, Bruce, Kay(Dennis), Arlene(Henry), Harris(Tish), Randy(Ruby) and Dennis(Tracey), 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Alma, brother Wallace(Rhea), sisters Lettie. Gladys(Wayne) and Linda(Jim) as well as nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.She was predeceased by her husband Jacob Wilson Moores, her father George W. Diamond, mother-in-law Rachel Rose, Brother-in-laws Marmaduke and Albert Edwin Moores. Visitation was held at the United Church in Flowers Cove, from which the funeral service was held at 11:00am on Tuesday July 29th. Curtis Memorial Hospital on July 22, 2014 Mr. Wilfred Pynn, of Quirpon, at the age of 79. predeceased by his wife Margaret, son in law Jim wells, sisters Martha, Mary , Stella, Tamar, Francis, Dorothy and brother Alfred. eft to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters Dale Wells, Sandra (Tony Blake) and Yvonne (Randy Gulliver), grandchildren Angela (Phillip) Noland (Tennell), Natalie (Damien), Neland (Christine), Steven (Brittany), Jason, Jill (Doug) and Amanda. great Grandchildren Jane,Owen, Emma, Claire and Ava and Madi. 2 sisters Rose (Dorm Andrson) and Vii (George Allan).
