LOMBARI, JEAN

Passed away on July 10, 2023 at Curtis Memorial Hospital, St Anthony, NL at the age of 71.
Jean was born to Lucy and Everett Earle of St. Lunaire, NL on June 20th, 1952, the oldest of 6 children.
At an early age, Jean worked as a nursing assistant both here and Ontario. Her second career was in banking at Toronto Dominion Bank in Mississauga. She met her husband Renato in 1984 and married in 1986.
Although Jean had no children of her own, she remained closely connected to her nieces and nephews in Newfoundland and tried to visit her family almost every year. As she began thinking of retirement, her heart became set on moving back to Newfoundland to be near her family. In June 2011, Jean and Renato relocated to St. Anthony. After a few years in St. Anthony Jean recommitted her life to the Lord at Bethel Pentecostal Church. Renato followed her to the altar that same morning and gave his heart to the Lord. A couple of months later they were both baptized. Jean enjoyed cooking, shopping, long drives and picnics.
Jean leaves behind her husband Renato, mother Lucy, siblings Joyce (Len) Budgell, Boyce (Judy), Wayne (Marilyn), Coleen (Wade) Saunders, Todd (Sandra), sisters in law Anna Stewart (Jeff) and Madalena Sernoskie (Barry) along with many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, including special friends Debbie and Bill Smulders and Jean Wells. Jean was predeceased by her father Everett Earle and father and mother in law Orlando and Maria Lombari.
Visitation was held at the Pentecostal church in St. Anthony on the 11th of July, 2023 form 2 to 4pm and 7-9pm, followed by the funeral service at 2pm on July 12, 2023 with Paster Jeff Elliott officiating, burial followed in the Church Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Alicia Patey Funeral Director.

CANNING, JEAN

January 29, 1935 - December 17, 2022

It is with a heavy heart that the family of the late Jean Canning announce her passing on December 17, 2022 at the age of 87 at the Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born to Stella and Sidney Pilgrim on January 29, 1935 at St. Anthony, NL. She started teaching in 1952 in Norris Arm South. In 1957 she went teaching in Great Brehat where she met her husband, Job, and they married on March 1, 1960. They moved to St. Anthony in 1966 where they raised their two children. She enjoyed knitting and socializing with her friends at Shirley’s Haven. She will be sadly missed by all.

She leaves to mourn her Daughters: Eileen (Mike) Pilgrim, Sandra (Lorne) Pilgrim; Grandchildren: Jamie (Jennifer), Michael (Kendell), Robyn (Matthew), Marshall (Brittney), Wilson (Janelle), Michelle (Steph); Great-grandchildren: Amber (Randy), Kaiden, Kalum, Mia, Braden, Seth, Wren, Kevin; Great-great-grandchild: Olivia; Sister-in-law: Bernette Pilgrim; Special Niece, Eliza Pittman; Special Nephews: David (Cindy), Maurice, Brian (Yvonne), as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She will be lovingly and sadly missed by all who knew her.

Jean is predeceased by her Parents: Sidney and Stella Pilgrim; Husband: Job; Daughter: Cavell; Sister: Joan Simms; Brother: Wayne Pilgrim; Brother-in-law: Reginald Simms.

Visitation to take place from the Salvation Army Church on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm . The funeral will take place the following day: Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Major Anthony Stokes and Major Beverly Dart-Stokes officiating. Cremation to follow.

PILGRIM, FRANCES JEAN

August 31, 1953 – August 14, 2019

Passed away August 14, 2019 at the Western Regional Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 65 years. She leaves to mourn with a lifetime of memories, her Brothers; Guy (Bernice), Gerald (Olive), Larry (Ethel); Sisters Marie Wiseman, Kay (John); Judy (Don), Vera (Brian); Nephews and Nieces, Trudy Fitzpatrick (Keith), Christopher Alexander (Karen), Sherry Simms (Tom), John Pilgrim, Molly Pilgrim; Reggie Pilgrim (Jenetta), Mark Pilgrim (Kayla), Martin Pilgrim (Kayla), Perry Wiseman (Rochelle), Susan Wiseman, Jeremy Wiseman (Shannon), Michael Patey, Marilyn Patey, Matthew Pilgrim, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Visitation was held from the United Church in St. Anthony Bight with the funeral taking place on August 18th, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Maich officiating. Interment followed. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Alicia Patey, Funeral Director.

ROBERTS, JEAN MARIAH

Passed away peacefully at the John M. Gray Center in St. Anthony at the age of 92 years.  She leaves to mourn her daughters Frances (Israel), Grace; sons Hubert (Doris), Edward (Lavenia), Eli (Marlene), Albert (Triffena), Boyce (Michele), Alec (Lorri), Loren (Pansy); sisters Hazel, Violet, Shirley, Sanda; daughter-in-law Ena and 25 Grandchildren, 31 Great-grandchildren, and 1 Great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, parents Herbert and Charlotte Rowbottom, Brothers James, Alec, Albert, and sons Calvin and Pierce. Visitation as held at the Central United Church, Quirpon branch from where the funeral service was held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 with Rev. Gus Pendleton officiating. Interment followed in the Quirpon Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger funeral director.
